Greg Dowie, will be starting his 2015 race season in the 750 Motor club, K-Tec Racing Clio 182 Series with Go Racing Motorsport. Greg’s love for motorsport began with the British Touring Car Championship in 2006/2007 when he assisted preparing the cars for race day. From there his passion grew and he aims to be British Touring Car Driver. In 2009 Greg attended a track day in Middlesbrough with Racestar. Racestar gave Greg a real insight into what it takes to be a professional race driver and his hunger for this grew and grew. Greg attended his local karting track to increase his speed and driving skills. In 2010, Greg took to the track once more with Tom Onlsow Cole as a driver coach at Bedford Autodrome. With Tom’s impressive driving history in the British Touring Car Championship, Greg learnt a lot about racing. Greg went on to purchase his first Ford Fiesta XR2 and with the help of his parents, Chris and Phil Dowie and sponsorship from Fivetowns, took to the race track in the Classic Stock Hatch Championship for the first time in 2012. Greg’s first season in the Classic Stock Hatch Championship proved difficult. However, in 2014 he really started to move through the field with a best place finish of 12th at Cadwell Park. Greg managed to get Driver of the Day at Snetterton in 2014. After qualifying in 34th position, Greg found himself amongst the Smart cars and overtook 19 cars to finish 15th. Racing with the Clio 182 series will provide Greg with more experience and skills before returning to the Classic Stock Hatch Championship at Croft on the 23rd May 2015. Greg said about racing in the Clio 182 Series: “The race at Brands Hatch will give me the opportunity to improve my racing by racing a car that is new to me. It is only thanks to support of the Dowie Motorsport Team who have worked tirelessly behind the scenes that I am able to move my motorsport career forward. Without the entire team support we would not be in the position we are today. Matt Fincham and Go Racing Motorsport are a great team and I hope to do them proud and get a good finish at Brands. With the support of Spirit Motorsport, Apple Roofing and Building, Cargo Factors, Opie Oils and Power Maxed we hope to be challenging the top 10 in this season of the Classic Stock Hatch.”
