Earlier this year John Stevens began competing in the VAG trophy with Team Hard. When he made his debut he was in the pink and green coloured Volkswagen Golf. After competing in the first round, John decided it was time to ask Tony Gilham to build him a Volkswagen Passat CC. He debuted the Passat CC at Silverstone in the VAG Trophy. At Silverstone he managed a 2nd and 3rd in the two races, the next weekend was Snetterton. He headed to Snetterton on a high after the positive results. Unfortunately it wasn’t to be at Snetterton, John’s weekend ended early as another driver clipped John’s car. This resulted in the Passat rolling three times.

Since that weekend John has had the car repaired and a totally new rebuild, all the guys at Team Hard did an amazing job to get the car ready to be raced again last weekend at Donington Park. At Donington John started out with qualifying in 13th place, this brought back his confidence in the Passat CC.

During the first race he managed to get up to 6th by the time the chequered flag came out. For race two he started 6th on the grid, during the race he only managed to get up to 5th before the race ended. For race three, it was a reversed grid and it saw John go up to second place on the grid. Throughout the duration of the final race of the weekend John went on to get his maiden win in the Passat CC

John is still searching for sponsors to help him continue to race as this is only his first season competing in motorsport. If anyone would like to sponsor John you can contact him via his Facebook page ‘John Stevens Racing’.

Recently John has also decided to help the charity ‘Leukaemia Care’ to raise funds to help them be able to do the work they do. He chose this charity as his father is currently battling Leukaemia, so it is a charity very close to John’s heart. He would really appreciate for everyone to help him help the charity to be able to keep providing their vital help and support to families going through similar situations to John’s. He currently has a Just Giving page which he is using to raise money to donate to the Leukaemia Care charity. If any one of you would like to donate to his Just Giving page you can here: https://www.justgiving.com/JohnstevensracingforleukaemiaCare/
