Jesse Chamberlain, a former Formula Vee driver, has recently been testing in a Porsche Carrera Cup GB Cup car.  Jesse is close to laying down the deposit for next year to compete in the Porsche Carrera Cup GB. Jesse took part in his first test day in the GT3 cup car at Silverstone on the 28th of October. He struggled with the car during the first few laps of the test session because he was not confident when braking. After pitting and speaking to the engineer, they decided to change the set up and set the brake bias more on the rear.Instantly when Jesse was back out on the circuit he felt much more confident when braking. When we caught up with Jesse about the test day he said “the car was great to drive even in the tricky track and weather conditions. The car has raw power and handles really well. I think I did quicker than anyone expected me to. I was able to put in some decent pace and good lap times, I’m really happy with how well the first test has gone”. Jesse is constantly in the gym getting fitter and healthier so that he is fully prepared for next year. “It is such a great achievement and opportunity to be involved with the Porsche brand. It is pretty amazing to be racing in the fastest one car manufacturer series in the UK.” Jesse showed some impressive potential during his test day. The Porsche Carrera Cup GB is a very competitive championship but also one of the best to be competing in. “If it all goes to plan, I can’t wait. It’s going to be a tough championship to compete in but I’m excited and can’t wait for the challenge. I’m itching to start next season already.” To keep up to date with Jesse’s career and success throughout testing and competing in the Porsche Carrera Cup GB, follow him on twitter @JChamberlainUK and like his facebook page ‘Jesse Chamberlain Racing’.
