GT ace racer Adam Carroll will now partner Liam Griffin in the Irish TV backed Barwell Motorsport run Lamborghini Huracan. Carroll will be taking the seat for the two-hour race at Rockingham this upcoming weekend as well as the two one-hour sprint races at Oulton Park in May. He will be replacing Lamborghini Squadra Corse driver Fabio Babini due to the Italian’s busy schedule competing in both the Blancpain GT Series and the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.

Alexander Sims will be taking over the seat as of the Silverstone round of the championship for the remainder of the season. The Barwell Motorsport team ideally wanted Sims in the car from the opening round of the season for the whole campaign but the BMW factory driver had commitments to compete elsewhere so unfortunately is forced to miss the first three rounds of the championship.

Liam Griffin will be contesting the whole season so Carroll’s objective for the race weekends will be to help Griffin in his title bid in hopes of winning the championship. Carroll has previous British GT experience as he competed in the FF Corse Ferrari 458 with Gary Eastwood as his teammate at Snetterton. Adam Carroll also races in the FIA World Endurance Championship GTE Am class driving for Gulf Racing this season.

This weekend at Rockingham will not be Carroll first time in the Lamborghini as he raced alongside Darren Nelson in an example of the Italian brands newest racer in the GT Cup series’ opening round which took place last weekend at Donington Park. During the opening race weekend of the season both drivers claimed pole position and managed to finish second in the race.

Liam Griffin and Adam Carroll will make a strong pairing as both have a lot of talent and potential to succeed. They will definitely be a pairing to watch during Carroll’s two race weekends with the team.
