Wix Racing’s Adam Morgan topped the timing screens during the opening practice session of the weekend at Silverstone. The damp conditions stopped quite a few of the front running cars from completing any flying lap times. The weekend kicked off with some light drizzle in the air but it soon turned into a light shower of rain. Only a few drivers set times during the opening stage of the session. Morgan put in his quick lap time during the opening few minutes of the session.
AmDTuning.com’s Ollie Jackson, Speedworks Motorsport’s Matt Simpson and Maximum Motorsport’s Stewart Lines all enjoyed putting in quite impressive runs during the wet session. Ollie Jackson finished the session in second place. Matt Simpson finished in fourth with Stewart Lines finishing in seventh.
Mat Jackson finished the session in third place on the timing screens. RCIB Insurance Racing’s Jake Hill and Speedworks Motorsport’s Tom Ingram slotted their Toyota Avensises in fifth and sixth. Ashley Sutton finished the session in eighth place aboard his MG6. Handy Motorsport’s Rob Austin finished in ninth ahead of Halfords Yuasa Racing’s Matt Neal. Eleventh was Josh Cook aboard his MG6 followed by Power Maxed Racing’s Hunter Abbott in twelfth and Team BMR’s Warren Scott in thirteenth.
Fourteenth on the timing screens was West Surrey Racing’s Sam Tordoff followed by Team BKR’s Aron Smith in fifteenth. RCIB Insurance Racing’s Michael Epps finished the session in sixteenth with Goodestone Racing’s Dan Welch in seventeenth. Eurotech Racing’s Martin Depper finished the session in eighteenth with Team BMR’s Colin Turkington in nineteenth. Team IHG Rewards Club’s Jack Goff finished in twentieth with West Surrey Racing teammate Rob Collard in twenty-first. Twenty-second on the timing screen was Halfords Yuasa Racing’s Gordon Shedden followed by Laser Tools Racing’s Aiden Moffat in twenty-third and Team BMR’s James Cole in twenty-fourth. Twenty-fifth was Eurotech’s Jeff Smith, Mark Howard finished in twenty-sixth with Kelvin Fletcher finishing in twenty-seventh for the Power Maxed Racing team. Tony Gilham finished the opening practice session in twenty-eighth ahead of Dextra Racing’s Alex Martin in twenty-ninth, Team BMR’s Jason Plato in thirtieth and Motorbase Performance’s Andrew Jordan in thirty-first.
